This opportunity is in the Finance Department.

Job Summary: As a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant, you will be responsible for executing journal entries, analyzing financial data, and preparing complex reports. Your contributions will ensure the completeness, accuracy, and reasonableness of financial reports prepared on Statutory (STAT), GAAP, and IFRS accounting bases. This role supports month-end close processes, quarterly and annual reporting, and internal benchmarking.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Prepare complex analytical reports and journal entries during the monthly close process.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, disclosures, and management/board reports.
  • Research and stay current on STAT, GAAP, and IFRS accounting principles.
  • Assist management in preparing various components of the annual budget.
  • Support interdepartmental accounting functions, including processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and testing system enhancements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors and coordinate with interdepartmental stakeholders.
  • Provide onboarding and training support to less experienced team members.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required).
  • CPA designation (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting or the insurance industry.
  • Experience with investment accounting (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; PeopleSoft experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of multitasking effectively.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
