THIS POSITION IS APPOINTIVE SERVICE

$2,890.31 to $3,179.34 biweekly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. South Area/Melbourne/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.Performs skilled administrative work coordinating and supervising county traffic control operations and maintenance activities. Work includes overseeing traffic operations field and technical staff, and contractors supporting those activities, ensuring the work methods and materials used are in compliance with established standards and specifications.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Civil Engineering, Construction Administration, or a closely related field; PLUS four (4) years of progressively responsible supervisory and management experience in traffic engineering or a closely related field. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)/Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) certification and maintain said certification during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Level I Signs and Markings certification and maintain said certification during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain within twelve (12) months of employment, a valid International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Level II Signs and Marking certification and maintain said certification during the term of employment. In the event of a hurricane, natural storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
