SUMMARY

The Associate Director of Sales reports to the Sales Director for Westlake Pipe & Fittings. The position is responsible for the direction and management of all sales and business development operations, including market competitiveness, pricing, compensation, and distribution and channel strategy of a specific region or business line. The incumbent will drive the company's achievement of its customer acquisition and revenue goals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Works closely with Sales Director to develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals by market segment
  • Determines sales strategies by market segment
  • Works closely with R&D to help identify and qualify new product opportunities
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates
  • Directs staffing, training and performance evaluations to control sales programs
  • Develop sales strategy to capture increased market share across the territory
  • Analyzes sales statistics to assist dealers in promoting sales
  • Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product
  • Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
  • Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures of territory to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Prepares sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion
  • Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition
  • Directly supervises territory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Business; MBA preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results and exceed targets
  • Ability to plan and execute at both the strategic and operational levels
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and develop sales talent across the team
  • Highly developed communication and presentation skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
