Reporting to the Manager - International Tax, this role will be responsible for key aspects of the International Tax function for the Company including tax compliance, audits, tax accounting and research. The overall objective of this position is to ensure compliance with all applicable international tax laws while minimizing the tax burden for the Company.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare all necessary US International Forms to support the organizational structure including but not limited to: Form 8858, 8865, 5471, 8991, 8992, 8993, 8975, and 1118.
  • Prepare and/or facilitate the preparation of international tax compliance and transfer pricing documentation in all appropriate jurisdictions.
  • Support the integration of new legal entities, acquisitions and corporate transactions into tax filings and processes on an ongoing basis. Implement and monitor documentation and work paper requirements and ensure an adequate audit trail is maintained in the files.
  • Support the relationship and transfer of information between Wendy's and third-party administrators/advisors in foreign countries to maintain all compliance obligations for the Company.
  • Adhere to existing processes and implement new processes that streamline the Department's reporting responsibilities to ensure both the effective utilization of resources and an accurate and efficient compliance process.
  • Provide support to the Tax Accounting group to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements for international taxes, including the tax provision process, tax rates, tax changes, accurate, timely and complete reconciliations of related tax accounts, monitoring, and reporting liability under FIN 48, FASB ASC 740-30-25 and compliance with SOX *404 requirements and internal controls.
  • Assist Manager - International Tax with international tax audit examinations, including the submission of information to auditors and establishing professional relationships with the tax auditors. Provide support to ensure an effective resolution of audit issues throughout the audit process.
  • Facilitate all needed estimated payment and tax withholding remittances in all appropriate jurisdictions.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by the International Tax Manager as well as other members of the Tax Department.

What we expect from you
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration / accounting / finance is required.
  • Master of Taxation and/or CPA designation is preferred.
  • Experience in the preparation of U.S. Federal forms 5471, 8858, 8865, and 1118.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP.
  • Experience with Corptax Compliance, Oracle TRCS, CCH Workpaper Manager, and the BNA research platform.
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail, solve problems and effectively communicate with business partners both inside and outside the tax department.

The base pay range for this position is listed below. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position. * The target annual bonus for this role is 10% of annualized base salary, based on actual company and personal performance.
