The Nurse Practitioner demonstrates a high level of expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of the complex responses of individuals, families, or communities to actual or potential health problems, prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort. This position assists the health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort. The Nurse Practitioner continues to perform many of the same interventions used in basic nursing practice. The difference in this practice relates to a greater depth and breadth of knowledge, a greater degree of synthesis of data, and complexity of skills and intervention. Physical Requirements (includes use of assistance devices as appropriate): The Hematology and Oncology Division at VCU Health seeks a full-time NP or PA to join their multidisciplinary team serving patients in our Cancer Survivorship Program and managing the long-term effects of cancer and treatment. A successful candidate would demonstrate a high level of expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and coordination of a plan of care and exhibit independent clinical judgment. This position serves as a clinical resource to health care teams inside and outside of VCU Medical Center, providing care coordination, outreach, and education.Collaboration with other team members in clinical research is also a part of this role.
