The Jackson Laboratory is seeking a Research Assistant I (RAI) l based in Bar Harbor, Maine. The focus of the lab is to understand how nerve-immune cell interactions regulate the regenerative capacity of the mouse digit tip. The overarching question is why regeneration is restricted in humans and mice compared to salamanders that can regenerate whole organs and limbs. The RA I works under direct supervision of Dr. Godwin and other postdoc/trainees in the lab. The RAI will be primarily responsible for maintaining our mouse colony, performing tissue harvesting, regeneration assays, collecting and analyzing 3D Micro-CT images and 2D microscopy images of mouse digits, and growth measurement analysis with several software packages.
