Join our dynamic team as a Network Defense Specialist, where you'll be at the forefront of safeguarding enterprise networks across cloud, web, and data center environments. You'll drive the implementation of cutting-edge cybersecurity strategies, enhancing our defenses against cyber threats. With expertise in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP, and hands-on experience with firewalls and web application security, you'll lead projects that transform our cybersecurity capabilities.

In this role, you'll tackle complex challenges, optimize network defense processes, and collaborate with top-tier cybersecurity architects. You'll be the go-to expert for technical escalations, ensuring our systems are secure and compliant. Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $75 - $85 / hr. w2



Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement Network Defense Solutions:
  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust network defense solutions across cloud, web, and data center environments to enhance the organization's cybersecurity posture.
  • Optimize and Manage Security Processes:
  • Proactively identify and resolve security issues, optimize firewall management processes, and ensure compliance with cybersecurity regulations and standards.
  • Technical Leadership and Collaboration:
  • Serve as the main point of contact for technical expertise and escalation, collaborate with cybersecurity architecture teams, and drive continuous improvement in incident detection and mitigation processes.



Experience Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience working with Web Application Firewall and Content Delivery Network
  • Hands-on experience working with Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls
  • Hands-on experience with Cloud security solutions (AWS/Azure/OCI/GCP Cloud Native Security)
  • Hands-on experience with Secure Edge solutions for SASE implementation, or similar remote access methodology
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform
  • Knowledge of application-aware firewall concepts and functions (e.g., Single point of authentication/audit/policy enforcement, message scanning for malicious content, data anonymization for PCI and PII compliance, data loss protection scanning, accelerated cryptographic operations, SSL security, REST/JSON processing)
  • Knowledge of networking and Internet communications fundamentals (i.e., devices, device configuration, hardware, software, applications, ports/protocols, addressing, network architecture and infrastructure, routing, operating systems, etc.)
  • Skill in configuring and utilizing network protection components (e.g., Firewalls, VPNs, network intrusion detection systems)
  • Skill in performing packet-level analysis
  • Experience troubleshooting across firewall infrastructure with various third-party tools
  • Direct background or exposure to cybersecurity operations
  • Experience in Web security and compliance experience (e.g., Firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, DDOS prevention and PCI, HIPAA, FIPS, etc.)
  • Expertise in API integrations
  • Coding and scripting experience
  • NERC CIP Compliance experience
  • Proven ability to speak and write about complex technical topics to a less technical audience
  • Relevant Cloud Security Certifications



Education Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or other closely related discipline
