HX5 is currently seeking a qualified Systems Administrator in support of the MDA IRES program at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. The Systems Administrator supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for
Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the Microsoft and RHEL servers and workstations, administering Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts/
Bulletins (IAVA/B), RHEL Errata, and RMF Security controls - Administer routine battle-rhythm checks in the Microsoft and Linux environments, to include reviewing and responding
accordingly to events reflected in the various management tools - Attend various meetings (crew/team, staff, change, configuration, etc.) in support of lab environment
- Troubleshoot system errors and/or user issues
- Coordinate efforts with other work centers and personnel to resolve Incident Requests (break/fix), Change Requests
(RFC), and Problem Management activities - Provide operation and maintenance support (some on-call may be necessary) to assist with after-hour maintenance
activities
Education andExperience:
- Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:
- HS Diploma (or GED) and eight (8) years of general
experience - Associate's degree and six (6) years of general experience
- Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of general
experience - Master's degree and two (2) years of general experience
- Must have 5 years of directly related experience in an engineering field related to Microsoft or Linux environments
- Must have a current DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification (e.g. CompTIA Security+ CE Certification)
- Have a strong analytical background with accompanying troubleshooting skills in a technical environment.
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours.
Other Position Requirements:
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
- Must be able to travel, including air travel.
