The City of Irvine seeks a collaborative and innovative leader to take a key management role in the development of Irvine's new, locally operated and world class public library system. The Library Services Manager* will serve as second in command to the City Librarian, building upon established community connections and provide organizational leadership to strategically support the development of a phenomenal municipal library operation.

Assist in planning, organizing, and directing library services, ensuring they align with community needs and departmental goals.
Support the City Librarian in hiring and managing professional, technical, and clerical staff; assist in establishing performance standards and discipline, conducting evaluations, and providing training and development opportunities.
Contribute to the development of short and long-range goals for library services, including assessing and recommending improvements to existing programs, services, and facilities.
Communicate with a high degree of professionalism and political acumen, when interfacing with City Council members, various Commission and committee members, personnel, attorneys, advocacy and support groups, consultants and customers.
*The Library Services Manager is a working title for the Community Services Manager classification.

Library Services will become a new division within the Community Services Department. To deliver programming and services along with award-winning events and experiences, the department is organized into six divisions: Community Parks and Outreach; Athletics, Aquatics, Arts, Great Park Operations & Attractions; Human Services; Events, Reservations and Program Services; Library Services; and the Irvine Animal Care Center. The department also includes a Business Services section that assists with budget and contract management.
