Job Description This job is responsible for investigating, negotiating and settling moderately complex and occasionally complex property damage and liability insurance claims. The consultant uses high resolution photographs provided by virtual imagery solutions to identify damages and write a damage estimate from a virtual setting. This individual reviews the insurance policy, evaluates damages, determines loss coverage, and authorizes payments. The individual works independently, prioritizing the individual's own responsibilities, and managing the individual's own workload. This is a fully remote opportunity on our homeowners/property claims team. The ideal candidate can be seated in the Eastern, Central or Mountain time zone. Prior homeowners claims experience & Xactimate estimating experience are required. Key Responsibilities* Uses high resolution photographs provided by virtual imagery and uses advanced video technology to collaborate with onsite vendors to identify damages and write a damage estimate from a virtual setting * Negotiates claim settlements with customers in accordance with business unit standard methodologies * Communicates empathetically with customers and helps them through their claims process in a fast, fair and easy manner * Reviews the policy and decides how coverage applies and provides the customer with a detailed explanation of both the estimate and the policy * Conducts a detailed review of the property and writes an estimate to capture the extent of the damages * Investigates, reviews, determines and verifies moderately complex and occasionally complex coverage/policy information * Inspects and estimates water damage, hail damage, or smoke and fire damage in a dwelling * Completes and reviews contents inventory, contents pricing, and mitigation bills * Use data and analytics to tell a story and influence decision making Education* 4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred) Experience* 2 or more years of experience (Preferred) Supervisory Responsibilities* This job does not have supervisory duties.
