Education Recommendations Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Data Science, or related fields with an accredited school in the US. The Network System Research Intern program at Bell Labs covers technologies relating to 6G network systems, cloud-native systems, and end-to-end network orchestration and automation. As part of our team, you will work on research topics covering:
- Design of RAN and core systems for 6G
- Next-generation Open RAN (O-RAN) systems
- Symbiotic Network-Application co-optimization
- End-to-end network slice management
- Multi-access Open RAN including Wireless LANs
- Non-terrestrial networks (NTNs) for cellular access
- Practical applied AI/ML for network automation
- Intelligent lifecycle management of cloud-native cellular systems
You have:
- Excellent programming skills for prototyping
- Prior research experience with network systems and/or ML theory
- Strong written and spoken communication/presentation skills
It would be nice if you also had:
- A strong publication record
- Ability to identify upcoming research trends and directions with a focus on maximizing impact
