Department:Outdoors Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties:The UREC Outdoors Coordinator oversees the operations of the bike shop, rental fleet, equipment rental program, adventure and instructional programs, as well as the management of the Tsa La Gi Bike Park. Additional responsibilities of this position include annual reporting and the supervision of 10-15 student staff. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Outdoor Education, Recreation Administration, Management, Business, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education Experience related to bike repair Experience designing and leading outdoor recreation instructional programs, adventure-based programs, and events Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Outdoor Education, Recreation Administration, Management, Business, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education from an accredited institution of higher education Instructor and/or instructor trainer certifications and demonstrated ability to teach nationally recognized courses such as BICP, PMBIA, Park Tool School, ACA, PCIA, LNT, and WMI At least one year or more of experience related to bike shop operations, bike mechanics, and rental fleet management At least one year or more of experience designing and leading instructional programs, and facilitating adventure programs Wilderness First Responder certification Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of bike shop operations and administration Knowledge of retail operations and point of sale software Knowledge of rental equipment operations and service needs Knowledge of bike related safety, transportation, and local riding Knowledge of trail maintenance and maintenance related programming Knowledge of current outdoor recreation programming trends and issues Knowledge of risk management policies and procedures Ability to create and monitor annual budgets Ability to adequately train and supervise part-time employees Ability to evaluate, assess, and report on program outputs and outcomes Ability to balance multiple assignments, deadlines, and tasks Ability to work in a team environment Ability to articulate a foundational understanding of social justice and inclusion within the context of higher education Ability to create environments that foster equitable participation of all groups while seeking to address and acknowledge issues of oppression, privilege, and power Ability to sense their own agency and social responsibility that includes others, their community, and the larger global context Additional Information: This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.
