Purpose of the Role

The Project Engineer plays a pivotal role in delivering engineering and capital improvement projects from initiation to completion. This position bridges the gap between project management and technical teams, ensuring that projects align with Worley's strategic goals of sustainability, innovation, and operational excellence. By fostering collaboration across diverse stakeholders, the Project Engineer ensures that project outcomes meet safety, environmental, and technical standards while driving value for customers and the organization.

Key Responsibilities



  • Coordinate project plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables in alignment with Worley's established policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison between Project Managers and engineering teams, ensuring effective communication and interpretation of project designs.
  • Supervise and guide project personnel, ensuring technical accuracy and adherence to project objectives.
  • Manage multiple engineering and capital projects across all project phases, engaging with stakeholders such as operations, safety, environmental, maintenance, and finance teams to ensure compliance with the Capital Plan and Sustainability Group Procedures.
  • Actively participate in and promote health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) standards, including risk assessments, incident reporting, and compliance initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to develop project scopes, schedules, cost estimates, and execution plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and sustainability targets.
  • Oversee contractor selection, procurement strategies, and vendor partnerships to facilitate successful project delivery.
  • Develop and present detailed project documentation, including Project Charters, Capital Expenditure Authorizations (CEA), and stakeholder updates.
  • Drive business optimization and cost reduction initiatives while ensuring compliance with management of change (MOC) and risk assessment protocols.
  • Provide technical guidance to project teams and contractors, ensuring engineering deliverables meet Worley's standards of innovation and excellence.

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in managing engineering and capital projects.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, including scope development, scheduling, cost estimation, and execution planning.
  • Proven ability to oversee multiple projects and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with safety, environmental, and technical requirements.
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental standards, with a proactive approach to risk assessment and incident management.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, including contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders, to deliver complex engineering projects.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills to manage technical teams and align project outcomes with organizational objectives.
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and innovation, with a track record of delivering projects that align with long-term strategic goals.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical designs, reviewing bills of materials, and ensuring accuracy in project schedules and forecasts.
  • Self-motivated with a strong ability to make independent decisions while considering cost and schedule impacts.
