What you'll be doing...

As part of this team, you will play a meaningful role in our satellite product transformation. This role blends a need for a person with a strong IP and satellite background and who is willing to travel to conferences, customer events and run to a crisis.

  • Configuring, integrate and test network and satellite equipment for our response fleet and for customers. This includes routers, switches, access points, satellite antenna controllers, mobile antennas, satellite routers, BUCs, etc.

  • Working with our network design engineers to vet new equipment and system designs for our mobile units. Present any new equipment for consideration to be used on the PIP VSAT network.

  • Continually troubleshooting, test and maintain these systems and the spare equipment, so they are ready to go at a moment's notice.

  • Documenting network design and complete processes and procedures for each mobile system.

  • Willing to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or actively have a CDL to drive large DOT trucks and trailers around the continental USA.

  • Willing to travel for extend periods of time to conference, customer events, crisis response events that will take you away from your home base for a week upwards to one month away at a time.

  • Assisting with coordinating fleet activities (maintenance, repairs, registration, etc.) with the various fleet owners of the vehicles and trailers that our group is responsible for.

  • Attendin corporate fleet calls and work with them to learn what processes and procedures have changed, report any status for our assets and learn what other changes are happening. Report back to management any pertinent information that needs to be conveyed.

What we're looking for...

You must be detail-oriented, think critically to solve issues in real-time and focus on maximizing customer uptime and minimizing impact.

    You'll need to have:

    • Associate's degree or two or more years of work experience.

    • Three or more years or relevant work experience.

    • Valid driver's license.

    • Experience with IP and satellite technologies.

    Even better if you have one or more of the following:

    • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems Management, or any STEM-based degree.

    • Experience with telecom networking, networks and technologies, equipment designs and configuration procedures, and inventory.

    • Four or more years or relevant work experience with IP and satellite technologies.

    • Military experience in satellite communications.

    • An active Commercial Driver's License.

    • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

    • Experience with CAD, Visio or other drawing programs.
