Maintains and operates stationary steam boilers, pumps and related equipment such as water softeners, air compressors, water treatment systems and associated piping, chillers, tower and auxiliary systems. Performs daily chemical water treatment of the boilers to insure proper running of equipment. Abides by and enforces all safety rules and regulations, State and local in order to keep boiler house safe. Responsible for keeping the boiler house and immediate surrounding area clean and up to Jefferson#39;s facilities standards. Occassionally required to perform general mechanical and minor electrical/HVAC work in support of the Facilities department and local building needs. 1. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson 4. Cleans boilers, waterside and fire side, annually or as required, to meet code and regulation requirements. 5. Performs daily inspection of boilers, pipelines, and operating equipment for steam, water, air and fuel leaks or defective parts. 6. Maintains record of gages and meter readings to determine fuel and steam consumption, steam produced, hot water and chilled/condensed water temperature, chiller operating pressure, etc. High School Diploma, Vocational School, or equivalent. Pennsylvania Class A License required for most PA-based facilities. New Jersey Black Seal required for all NJ-based facilities. Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jeffersonrsquo;s clinical entities or at the University.
