Job Summary
The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Clinical Insights and Strategy role is pivotal in ensuring that Jefferson Health continues to provide high-quality, patient-centered care while optimizing clinical operations and outcomes with a data-driven approach. This leader will play a critical role in leading a team that identifies and supports opportunities for improvement, including analyzing large data sets to identify clinical variations, disparities or gaps in care pathways, and engages across the OnPoint program in working to create data-drive strategies for improvement. This individual will be responsible for partnering with clinicians, operational leaders, informatics, analytics and others in developing and implementing workflows and strategies to address these issues, ultimately enhancing patient care and operational efficiency. This role will also interface on data for grant-funded activities the Office of the CCO is engaged with, ensuring effective collaboration on research and projects funded by external grants |
Essential Functions
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.

- Analyze large clinical data sets to identify patterns, trends, and variations in practice.
- Develop and implement strategies to address identified clinical variations and improve patient outcomes.
- Pioneer initiatives to integrate data analytics into clinical practice and decision-making processes.
- Remain on the leading edge of industry trends and advancements in data analytics, informatics, and healthcare technology.
- Develop strategic plans based on data insights to drive clinical and operational improvements.
- Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and create dashboards to monitor progress and outcomes.
- Lead collaboration with stakeholders to align data-driven strategies with organizational goals and objectives.
- Communicate data insights and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and other key stakeholders.
- Lead the implementation of strategic initiatives and monitor their effectiveness over time.
- Partner with OnPoint Population Health leader to support workflows to drive better performance in value-based contracts.
- Lead and prioritize analysis of quality metrics and trends with the regional QS leaders and Clinical Improvement team
- Curate reports for leadership team, and regulatory bodies as indicated
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to design and optimize workflows that capture key information to drive process improvement and insights
- Manage and answer complex clinical, operational and business questions
- Drive and support data driven decision making
- Responsibility for Advancing Care Excellence Insights Program to advance opportunities to improve capture and documentation of complexity of the patient population, leading CoPilot and partnering with CDI Team and CCO on improvement opportunities, including AI
- Accountability to operationalize AI and other advanced technology in partnership with Informatics, Analytics and ISamp;T teams
- Employ experience with research and grant applications to continue to identify opportunities to expedite research to bedside, and engage in programtic grants and large-scale implementation efforts to evidence-based medicine or interventions into clinical practice or community application.
- Partner with the CCO in leading the IMPACT Institute to focus on external funding opportunities that align with OnPoint Program and health system improvement and implementation efforts

- Strong understanding of healthcare data standards, regulations, and best practices.

- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams.
- Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams, lead with influence and support alignment with organizational priorities and strategy.
- Analytical Mindset: Expertise with data analysis and identifying opportunities and trends. Extensive experience in data analytics and business intelligence. 8+ years Analytics experience
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience running large-scale, executive level meetings and workgroups.
- Informatics and Implementation: Educated in informatics or implementation science, and extensive experience with proven success in implementing large-scale projects.
- Expertise in healthcare delivery, clinical and operational flow.

Advanced degree in a clinical field (e.g., MD, MSN, PharmD) required. |
AND Experience: Demonstrated experience in healthcare quality at system level. Comfort working in a matrix organization and reporting context. Leadership across care continuum. Leader of strategic initiatives with proven track record of implementation success. 10+ yearsrsquo; experience in clinical analytics and informatics space. Extensive experience with EHRs or other clinical IT systems. |
