Job Summary The Exam Management and Risk Liaison will be responsible for leading the Risk and Control Governance functions within Banking Group Portfolio Management, "BGPM". Reporting to the leader of BGPM Operations and Portfolio Monitoring, the Exam Management and Risk Liaison will be responsible for leading BGPM through all exams and risk remediations, partnering with internal and external partners to capture scope of exams, document progress, respond to all inquiries and requests, and ensure all risk and control remediation activities are satisfactorily completed, including ongoing monitoring and documentation is in place.
Responsibilities
- Attends internal kick-off meeting to review scope, objectives, audit timeline, roles and assigned staff for assigned exams.
- Prepares Excel exam tracker to track request items, questions, findings, review, and upload (Risk Review Group, "RRG"/Risk Assurance, "REA" reviews may not require a tracker).
- Partners with Business Risk and Control Exam Team as needed.
- Gathers requested process and procedure documentation as well as items in the request letter.
- Attends Regulatory Liaison led update meetings, as necessary, to discuss progress of request items and details needed as well as any additional requests made by the regulators.
- For RRG/REA audits, attends walkthrough meetings and update meetings, as necessary.
- Tracks line of business, "LOB" responses to request items and reviews responses to verify they concisely and accurately answer the regulator's question, editing and/or updating as needed.
- Responds to incoming RRG/REA auditor questions regarding their testing results, including exceptions or findings identified.
- Engages appropriate BGPM personnel for responses to questions.
- Works with BGPM personnel and 2nd LOD to revise any exam review responses.
- Assists the Exam Manager and Regulatory Liaison with Government, Risk & Compliance, "GRC" system activities, including GRC response approvals.
- Verifies items have been received, reviewed by 2nd LOD reviewer, and accurately updated in GRC.
- May be responsible for GRC request uploads if assigned as the Information Owner.
- Verifies items are ready for Regulatory Liaison for upload to External regulator
- Works with RRG/2nd line of defense during findings validation testing.
- Attends final meeting to review the final report, as needed.
- Tracks recommendation(s) through to completion.
- Retains exam/audit documentation, including emails, on the share drive indicated in the Record Retention section.
- Tracks all risk rating changes required through exam reviews (internal and external).
- Tracks errors identified during exams to identify trends across BGPM.
- Escalates identified trends to BGPM Leadership for further analysis/action.
- Facilitates/participates in finding/remediation activities as assigned.
- Partners with Business Risk and Control Team as needed to assist with GRC oversight for BGPM.
- Assists with creating/monitoring BGPM risk and controls.
- Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice
- Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key's clients and Key.
Experience Qualifications
- 3+ years commercial underwriting/credit experience (required)
- 1-3 years of experience with/knowledge of multiple types of lending (e.g. middle market, business banking) (required)
- 1-3 years of experience with/knowledge of testing concepts and statistical expertise related to testing for quality of production work, sampling, etc. (required)
- 1-3 years of experience that demonstrate an understanding of the full commercial credit process (preferred)
- 1-3 years audit experience (preferred)
Tactical Skills
- Understanding of risk and control governance
- Working knowledge of GRC, and/or equivalent risk system/application
- Internal audit/external exam process management
- Ability to effectively speak and present to small/large groups
- Ability to work independently
- Intellectual curiosity
- Organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

Driving Requirements
- Ability to occasionally operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's license.
