Overview: (NCDA or NCIE) Lead System Administrator

Hybrid Role: (Remote/Onsite) Must live in St. Louis Metro area for onsite travel reasons.

  • Design and Implementation: Architect, design, and implement storage solutions to meet Mercy requirements.
  • Configuration and Maintenance: Configure and maintain storage environment.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor storage performance and conduct regular tuning to ensure optimal operation.
    • Backup and Recovery: Manage and ensure the success of backup and recovery processes using enterprise tools (NetApp SnapMirror, Commvault, Etc)
  • Support and Troubleshooting: Provide 24/7 support for storage-related issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement solutions.
  • Collaboration: Work with teams to integrate storage solutions with various applications and databases.
  • Upgrades and Patching: Perform regular upgrades and patching of NetApp systems to maintain security and performance.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of storage configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Automation: Experience with automation tools and scripting (Ansible, Terraform, and/or Powershell).

Primary Function Manages servers, storage, operating systems and applications to ensure availability, recoverability, performance, integrity and supportability through production support and maintenance of existing systems and development and implementation of systems enhancements All positions in this job family participate, to some degree, in the following activities: Production Support monitoring, troubleshooting, configuring, enhancing and providing advanced customer support Deployment / Implementation planning and executing the implementation of new applications or system integration and testing Design researching, recommending and designing new technologies, new configurations and enhancements to existing systems; providing consulting advice to customers on the capabilities of the network environment

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Eight (8) years of relevant technical or business work experience
  • Required Education: Bachelors degree in related field, specialized training, or equivalent work experience.
  • Other:
    • NetApp Expertise: In-depth knowledge of NetApp storage systems, including ONTAP
    • Protocols: Proficiency in managing file access protocols such as NFS, CIFS, and Fiber Channel.
    • RAID and Storage Management: Experience with setting up and managing RAID groups, aggregates, volumes, quotas, and qtrees.
    • Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with NetApp monitoring and performance tuning tools like Cloud Insights (now Data Infrastructure Insights), Active IQ Unified Manager.
    • Operating Systems: Experience with Windows, Unix, Linux, and VMware environments.
    • Cloud Integration: Knowledge of integrating NetApp storage with cloud storage solutions, including DII Workload Security and Cloud Volumes OnTap
    • Hyperscale Experience: Experience in storage migrations to Azure or other hyperscaler
    • Internal cloud: Experience building PaaS or internal clouds

    • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
    • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • (Preferred Skills):

    • Healthcare Experience: Previous experience in a large enterprise healthcare environment is a plus.
    • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA) or NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer (NCIE) are preferred.
