The Center for Elderly Suicide Prevention & Friendship Line is seeking an Outreach & Engagement Supervisor II which will be located at IOA's headquarters in San Francisco's Inner Richmond neighborhood. Reporting to the Senior Director of the Friendship Line, the Outreach & Engagement Coordinator provides oversite of outreach, engagement activities to increase volunteer and intern recruitment and participation, along with management, training, and working collaboratively with Friendship Line Training Director and Team Leads.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Staffing/Supervision:

  • Provides supervision up 150+ volunteers and interns including quarterly check-ins, mid-term, and final evaluations for interning students.
  • Works collaboratively with Sr. Director and other Management to assess volunteer/intern skills to take calls on the Friendship Line, including providing leadership and support to regular counselors as needed.
  • In collaboration with the Sr. Director of the Friendship Line and Friendship Line Business Director, strategizes and implements outreach and engagement efforts with volunteers and interns, as well as promotion of the Friendship Line and Grief Services to a wider range of older adults in California who may be experiencing social isolation and/or lack of social support.
  • On a rotation basis, shares in duties of providing on-call supervisory support to overnight staff, volunteers, and interns. and reports concerns or performance issues to the Friendship Line Call Center Manager.

Operational Support, Training and Other Duties:

  • Works in collaboration with Friendship Line Training Director to provide trainings to staff and volunteers that meet accreditation and grant requirements. This may include occasional volunteer/intern weekend training.
  • Works in collaboration with Sr. Director of the Friendship Line to evaluate, monitor, and acquire appropriate clinical training for
  • Counselors and volunteers as well as to outreach IOA trainings to San Francisco, Alameda, and San Mateo Counties.
  • Serve as representative for Friendship Line services both within IOA and in the Community.
  • In partnership with the FL Training Director, recruit, train and track all new volunteers and interns.
  • Create opportunities at Friendship Line to attract new volunteers and older adult callers.
  • Participate in fundraising events and opportunities as needed.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.

Volunteer/Intern program administration:

  • Primarily engaged in development and implementation of volunteer program policies and procedures.
  • Produce quarterly accounting of volunteer usage for senior leadership review. Compile other reports as needed.
  • Maintain confidential volunteer personnel files and records and job description

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA in Business, Psychology, or Health Sciences or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Supervisory experience with volunteers, peers, staff
  • Experience working with the Older Adult
  • Experience with data base, Excel, Word, and excellent typing and writing skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and be creative and be a strategic partner.
  • Ability to work as part of an integrated team.
  • Excellent social and engagement skills
  • Bilingual in a San Francisco threshold language a plus (Cantonese, Mandarin, Tagalog, Spanish, Vietnamese)

COMPENSATION:

Range: $ 66,000 - 78,000/Annual

This amount is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, nor a promise of any specific pay for any specific employee, which is always dependent on actual experience, education and other factors.
