Transportation Engineer II, Municipal

At RK&K, we are hiring a motivated Civil Engineer II in Raleigh, NC who wants to provide better mobility for our local communities! As a Civil Engineer at RK&K, you will join our multimodal Transportation Design team and assist in the design of projects with a wide variety of state, county and municipal public works and transportation agencies. You will collaborate with coworkers, peers, and clients to develop projects that serve a diverse range of users and travel modes, enhance safety and make communities better places to live. Essential Function

• Design and analysis of horizontal and vertical alignments
• Prepare plan, profile, cross section, and detail sheets
• Prepare grading plans
• Assist with traffic control, signing, and pavement marking plans
• Calculate quantities and prepare construction cost estimates
• Support preparation of final plans and specifications packages
• Work with other disciplines on creative solutions to design challenges

Required Skills and Experience

• Three (3)+ years of experience in civil and/or transportation engineering
• Working knowledge of civil engineering design principals
• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
• Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Roadway widening design
• Sidewalk or shared use path design
• Experience working with municipal and DOT clients
