The Role :

Entegris is currently seeking a talented and innovative Senior Scientist to join its Analytical & Metrology team in Billerica, MA.

This role will focus on the implementation and deployment of ultratrace elemental analysis using ICP-MS to support membrane R&D and new liquid filtration and purification product development in the Micro-contamination Control Division (MC) of Entegris. The Senior Scientist serves as a subject matter expert related to the characterization of metallic contaminates for semiconductor applications. In line with our values, which is fostering an environment of teamwork, you will have an opportunity to collaborate with a talented global team of engineers and scientists to solve challenging tasks.

The ideal candidate will be results-oriented and an excellent team player, with solid knowledge of analytical chemistry and instruments, and familiarity with semiconductor device materials, structures, and metrology.

In this role you will:

  • Perform ultratrace metallic impurity analysis using ICP-MS instrument;

  • Troubleshooting and maintenance of ICP-MS Systems to get optimal performance;

  • Develop new methods to support new product development and customer's needs;

  • Provide analytical expertise and collaborate with internal and external customers to determine root causes for failure analysis;

  • Promote Entegris' image by participating in industrial conferences and seminars;

  • Continuous training on the cutting-edge ICP-MS analysis methods;

  • Document work in internal reporting systems and external publications.

Traits we believe make a strong candidate:

  • Ph.D. in chemistry, materials science or related field with 3 years of experience on ICP-MS analysis;

  • Practical knowledge and hands-on experience working with ICP-MS instrument is required;

  • Experience working in the chemical, semiconductor or related industry is preferred;

  • Strong communication skills demonstrated by both oral presentations and written technical publications;

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with a passion for learning and sharing;

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced dynamic and collaborative working environment;

  • A role model to maintaining a safe work environment and championing safe work practices;

  • Being accountable, proactive and innovative.

Your success will be measured by:

  • Develops and validate new methods for new sample matrices using ICP-MS instrument;

  • Test and analyze R&D samples, new products, and in-process samples in timely manner;

  • Confer with process engineers, development scientists and manufacturing personnel regarding results and research;

  • Prepare technical reports and presentations to promote learning;

  • Good communication and coordination abilities and presentation skills;

  • Teaching and mentoring junior chemists and technicians;

  • Ability to conduct project independently and navigate ambiguity;

  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects in parallel;

  • Strong independent operation skills and ability to complete lab work safely;
