The School of Education and Human Development (EHD) at the University of Virginia is looking for an IT Help Desk Analyst 2 to provide consultative and technical support to faculty and staff. This role ensures efficient problem resolution, optimal system performance, and smooth access to data and systems.

As an IT Help Desk Analyst 2, you will handle a variety of technical challenges, work with a collaborative team, and contribute to long-term IT initiatives. This is an on-site role with plenty of opportunities to grow your technical skills and make an impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Support: Resolve first and second-tier hardware, software, and connectivity issues efficiently.
• Request Management: Document request history, triage advanced issues, and route them to appropriate technical teams.
• System Maintenance: Perform system upgrades, deploy new devices, and surplus outdated equipment per university guidelines.
• Training and Documentation: Provide basic training for users and maintain accurate documentation of systems and processes.
• Collaboration: Work closely with IT professionals in networking, software engineering, and application development to resolve complex issues.
• Secure Computing: Follow university policies on secure computing, account maintenance, and hardware/software evaluation.

Salary Range: $22.00-25.00 an hour

What We're Looking For

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: At least one year of relevant experience. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. for installing and relocating equipment.
• Capability to crawl under desks for setup and troubleshooting.
