KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED: Knowledge of: To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate exceptional leadership and communication skills and must possess expert knowledge of the principles, practices, trends and methods of recreational aquatics operations and programming in a community setting. Knowledge of guidelines and regulations related to Department, Town, County, State, and Federal policies and procedures also required. Skills in: Initiative and decision-making; verbal and written communication; supervision, leadership, and interpersonal relationships; basic financial methods of recreational programming; outstanding customer service to a diverse population; administrative functions; time management, meeting deadlines, responding to internal and external requests in a timely manner; the use of standard office equipment, computers, and various software programs; positive and professional working relationships with all Town staff and the community; conflict resolution; handling controversial issues; comprehending instruction, correspondence, and policies and procedures; problem solving; remaining composed in emergency situations and working effectively under stressful circumstances; performing CPR, First Aid, and AED to level of certification. Environmental Factors: Work is performed in a standard recreational facility environment. Work may involve competing demands, and performing multiple tasks. Physical Factors: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will spend varying amounts of time walking, standing, and sitting. Often required to bend over, kneel, and stoop down multiple times throughout shift. Occasional tasks require grasping, lifting, and handling of exercise equipment. The employee will need to reach for objects above and below the shoulders, push and pull objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
