JOB TITLE: Assistant Professor JOB PURPOSE: The Department of Geology & Geophysics at the University of Wyoming welcomes applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Crustal Dynamics. We seek applicants who complement existing research strengths within the department and across the University. Research focus is open including, but not limited to, lithospheric deformation, basin analysis, Earth surface processes, geodynamics, and the interplay ofcrustal processes with the biosphere or atmosphere. We particularly encourage applicants who address questions from the grain scale to the global scale and who integrate field, theoretical, experimental, and/or computer modeling/computational/data science approaches. This position offers the possibility of a joint appointment in the School of Computing for candidates with demonstrated expertise and interest in interdisciplinary computing applications and research, however this is not a requirement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be expected to build a vibrant, extramurally funded research program in the broadly defined area of crustal processes, contribute to the teaching mission of the department, and participate in service. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a PhD degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Geosciences, or related fields at time of appointment and evidence of past research and/or teaching experience is required.
