SLSCO, Ltd is seeking a Staff GL Accountant to join our team. Our team provides the full spectrum of general contracting, construction management, infrastructure, disaster response, health and humanitarian services throughout North America and beyond. We serve all levels and sectors of government and private industry in a wide range of markets. As a Staff GL Accountant, you will perform tasks in support of the accounting operations for SLSCO. You will also be asked to perform the following responsibilities. The Staff GL Accountant position will report directly to the SLSCO Financial Controller or her designee.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist business partners, Division Presidents, VP of Accounting, and Financial Controller as needed.
  • Assist Senior Accountant during month-end and year-end close.
  • Preparation of journal entries including cash receipts, inter-company transfers, and payroll.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Reconcile bank statements and report discrepancies to the Financial Controller.
  • Certify expense report processing and reconciliation.
  • Compiling and analyzing financial information to ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses.
  • Prepare documents and support for audits.
  • Maintain internal controls and procedures.
  • Analyze current procedures and recommend changes to develop and implement best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Confidentiality and integrity.
  • Self-motivated individual with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Experience with CMIC is strongly preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
  • Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 40 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
  • Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).
  • Ability to work outside in and around construction sites safely.
