Location: Roanoke, VA Position Summary Through on the job training, student apprentices will assist via their selected path (Electrical, Sheet Metal, Plumbing) in performing any combination of the following tasks: assemble, install, gathers tools and supplies to be used at work site according to instructions; measures, using ruler and hand and power tools; assists in lifting, performs minor repairs; maintains tools and equipment and keeps supplies and parts in order. Student Apprentices remain enrolled in academic classes to meet requirements in occupation specific related instruction classes. Apprenticeship Key Elements:

Travel Work Environment Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. They will need to stand (approximately 60%), walk (approximately 30%), and sit (approximately 10%). The employee will also need to be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle, feel, talk, and hear. The employee will need to be able to carry up to 75lbs, lift up to 100lbs, and move up to 200lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, midrange vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position which typically requires 40 hours per week.
