Accounting Specialist - Lynchburg, VA Information Technology

Accounting Specialist needed for a contract opportunity with SOC's client to work onsite in Lynchburg, VA.

Contract Length: 12+ Months, possible conversion to FTE

Must have skills:

• 2 year AA/AS Degree
• Strong MS Office/Outlook/Word/Excel
• 6-12 months of General accounting experience
• Knowledge of processing Journal entries, reconciling invoice

Nice-to-have skills:

• Experience with PeopleSoft/Any ERP system

Job Description:

Responsible for maintaining accounts and records in various general and/or cost accounting functions.

Responsibilities:

• Develops, implements and/or maintains one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, etc.
• Compiles data, allocates costs, prepares reports on labor, equipment, depreciation, assembly or other operating expenses, and analyzes financial information.
• Prepares income and balance sheet, profit and loss, consolidated and other accounting statements.
• Reviews and interprets financial reporting requirements, rules and regulations.
• Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures.
• May design, modify, install and/or maintain general accounting systems.

Qualifications:

• 2 year AA/AS Degree
• Strong MS Office/Outlook/Word/Excel
• 6-12 months of General accounting experience
• Knowledge of processing Journal entries, reconciling invoice
