The Test Automation Engineer will support the design and development of our test automation framework using a variety of development platforms and database environments. The Engineer will also be responsible for verifying Covius applications using both automated test development and manual testing in collaboration with other teams.

Essential Functions

  • Help design and implement automated testing frameworks.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test automation requirements and identify test scenarios.

  • Lead or contribute to the development of end-to-end test cases and scripts.

  • Define high level test plans, create test cases and execute them (both manually and automatically) for functional, integration, system and regression testing

  • Investigates and analyzes test results to find out root causes of failures by debugging system, application and server logs

  • Write SQL queries to verify and confirm data flow between systems.

  • Communicates project status and plans and anticipates delays and obstacles.

  • Maintain and enhance existing test automation frameworks and scripts.

  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using appropriate frameworks and tools.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to accurately convey messages with both technical and non-technical staff members.

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of QA methodologies, procedures, tools, documentation, metrics & analytics.

  • Strong knowledge of the software development life cycle.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical documentation such as software requirements, detailed designs, flow charts and database schemas.

  • Commitment and ability to cultivate a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.

Experience

  • 2-5 years of prior experience in a similar QA role with a strong understanding of object orientation language is required.

  • Hands-on experience with at least one object-oriented language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Ruby, etc.

  • Have knowledge and experience with one or more of the following: Web UI, Coded UI, GUI, Services Automation, Selenium.

  • Prior experience in a dynamic, high growth and high transaction environment.

  • Compensation: $75,200 - $94,000 annualized with a 10% AIP opportunity

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a climate controlled indoor administrative office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, depending upon the office or meeting location.

Physical Demands and Activities

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to communicate. The employee occasionally is required to remain stationary. The employee is frequently required to move about the office, operate a computer and other office machinery, such as calculator, copy machine, and computer printer; rarely position self to maintain files; frequently moves boxes weighing up to 10 lbs. The employee is occasionally required to operate heavy machinery and/or power tools. Close and distance observation required with ability to observe objects at close range in presence of glare or bright lighting (e.g., computer screen). Must possess the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand and have the ability to interact with external and internal stakeholders.
