About the unit Southern Regional Float Pool performs the full range of Medical Laboratory testing, analyzing, and resulting tests on blood and bodily fluids in order to provide information to providers for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of diseases in patients at three different laboratories within Corewell Health: Pennock and Zeeland Hospitals. Participates in quality assurance/quality control activities of the laboratory as requested utilizing same analyzers and test menu at these three locations. Scope of work Performs, interprets and correlates clinical laboratory tests by following departmental protocols to assist in physician diagnosis and treatment. Prepares specimens for testing, screens patient specimens, and analyzes patient specimens for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Performs quality control procedures and assists in maintaining an efficient and effective laboratory operation. May serve as a generalist or as a limited specialist.
