The Collector aka Payment Resolution Specialist collects payments and manage potential losses to the Credit Union. Essential Functions: Contacts members and co-members with delinquent loans at the early stages of delinquency, to arrange a suitable repayment schedule. Performs a timely follow up on all types of loans assigned. Works with members to resolve problems by researching and investigating possible solutions. Codes member's accounts to alert other departments within the Credit Union of delinquent loans and other collection issues. Promotes credit union services. Performs skip tracing as required. Records actions, conversations and recommendation in the collection history notes to ensure accurate and adequate information is maintained at all times. Consults with members requesting extensions and refinancing; prepares necessary documentation and refers to management with recommendation. Works with other departments within the Credit Union to resolve delinquencies and prevent future problems. Coordinates closing of approved collection-initiated refinances. Ensures necessary paperwork is complete. Closes loans if necessary. Experience: 2-3 years of experience in a similar role or related business field utilizing these skills. Previous experience in collections or loan processing is desirable.
