Join a dynamic neuroscience/neurosurgery team at a leading academic medical center with no nights, no call, and no OR requirement! This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with neurosurgeons, residents, and APPs in an acute care hospital setting, providing inpatient care for adult patients with a variety of neurosurgical conditions, including spinal disease, tumors, hydrocephalus, cerebrovascular disease, neurotrauma, and stereotactic/functional neurosurgery.

Key responsibilities include inpatient care, patient education, consulting with specialists, interdisciplinary collaboration, and precepting PA and NP students. Schedule:


  • Full-time (40 hours/week)



Key Responsibilities:


  1. Evaluate and manage neurosurgical patients in an acute care setting.
  2. Apply evidence-based medicine to optimize patient outcomes.
  3. Lead training and development initiatives for the inter-professional team.
  4. Ensure quality, safety, and cost-effective healthcare delivery.
  5. Translate new knowledge and best practices into clinical care.
  6. Provide patient and family education, considering developmental needs.
  7. Maintain compliance with regulations, licensure, and certification requirements.
  8. Advocate for patient-centered care across the healthcare continuum.
  9. Integrate ethical principles into decision-making and practice.



Qualifications:


  • PA-C: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current Maryland PA licensure, CDS, and DEA certification
  • ACNP: Completion of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program with current Maryland NP licensure, CDS, and DEA certification
  • Certifications Required: BLS & ACLS (AHA or Red Cross accepted)
  • Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership Systems (PECOS) enrollment for Medicare ordering purposes
  • Must be fully credentialed by The Johns Hopkins Hospital Medical Board before starting

Salary Range: Minimum 53.15 per hour - Maximum 82.38 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
