We are excited to add a Senior Accountant to our Accounting and Finance! The position will pay between $85,000k-100,000k based on previous relevant experience, educational credentials, and location.

The Senior Accountant will report to the Senior Accounting Manager and be responsible for supporting activities related to the Company's general ledger accounting processes. The Senior Accountant will be heavily involved in the preparation and support of the recording of accounting journal entries as part of the Company's month-end closing process and account reconciliations. In addition, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of various accounting analyses, as required by the Company's accounting policies or the evolution of the Company's accounting processes, from time to time. Finally, the Senior Accountant will assist in ad hoc, cross-functional finance projects which may arise from time to time.

Key Responsibilities



  • Assist in the Company's month-end accounting close process through the preparation of journal entries and supporting documentation in accordance with the Company's accounting policies.
  • Prepare account reconciliations for general ledger accounts within assigned process areas.
  • Liaise with various business owners to understand the Company's various business transactions and diagnose the appropriate GAAP treatment.
  • Assist in the implementation of the Company's new Enterprise Resource Planning system, with input to the process areas over which the Senior Accountant has ownership.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to the various Staff Accountants, as necessary, including review of Staff Accountant-prepared materials.
  • Maintain the Company's General Ledger, including accounts and departments.
  • Carry out certain control procedures and generally support the Company's SOX compliance efforts.
  • Provide requested support to external auditors and provide justification to the Company's processes and procedures.
  • Assist in research surrounding emerging GAAP standards and other technical accounting matters on an as-needed basis.
  • Develop and implement new accounting processes and controls to support company growth.
  • Devise and implement proprietary, innovative, and automated solutions to complement or supplant current manual processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments on an as-needed basis for ad hoc projects.


Qualifications

A successful candidate will have the following personal characteristics and traits as well as technical experience and education:



  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented disposition with an ability to step back and see the big picture.
  • Satisfactory understanding of GAAP and accounting processes.
  • Understanding of SOX and an appreciation of SOX compliance.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • A "self-starter" mentality.
  • Ability to grow and adapt to changing needs of the business environment.


Education and Experience

A successful candidate will have the following education and experience:



  • BS or BA in Accounting or related field.
  • At least two years of relevant experience.
  • CPA eligibility, with an intention to complete all necessary requirements to achieve licensure.
  • Familiarity of the full suite of Microsoft Office software solutions, particularly Microsoft Excel.



Preferred

Preference will be given to those candidates who have the following characteristics:



  • CPA license.
  • Public Accounting experience, particularly the Big 4.
  • Familiarity with QAD.
  • Familiarity with computer programming languages, such as Python or R.
