Responsibilities

Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and make a real impact? Newport Academy is on the lookout for a Facilities and Maintenance Technician to join our awesome team! If you're all about keeping things running smoothly and ensuring a safe space for everyone, we want to hear from you!

What You'll Be Doing:

Utility Wizardry: Know your stuff when it comes to well systems, septic systems, plumbing, HVAC, electrical services, backup generators, and fuel supplies.

Maintenance Coordination: Schedule and coordinate preventative maintenance for tasks we can't handle in-house.

Water Watcher: Keep an eye on water temps and record those readings like a pro.

Sprinkler Sensei: Monitor and log sprinkler system pressure and water levels regularly.

Handyman Hero: Jump in for general maintenance and repairs-think carpentry, plumbing, and painting whenever needed.

Timely Tasks: Get things done on time and meet Newport Academy's standards.

Schedule Like a Boss: Plan your work to keep disruptions to a minimum for our programs and staff.

Contractor Connections: Build and maintain solid relationships with contractors and service providers.

Facility Inspections: Do regular walk-throughs to spot repairs and ensure everything meets our standards.

Prioritize & Conquer: Tackle tasks based on what's most important.

Safety Checks: Conduct quarterly and yearly tests of fire alarms and sprinkler systems.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two plus years' experience in facilities maintenance

Full-Time Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30AM-4:00PM

Compensation for this role ranges from $21.00-$27.50 per hour depending on education and experience.
