SUMMARY: A Senior Commercial Banking Portfolio Administrator has considerable experience in the role or a comparable role in the banking industry, utilizes senior-level credit skills and knowledge to assist Commercial Bankers, Producing Team Leads and Regional Team Leaders in a variety of functions, ranging from opportunity identification, financial information gathering, closings and ongoing client service. The Senior Commercial Banking Portfolio Administrator is usually responsible for helping banking partners and support functions in multiple geographic regions, mentoring/training Portfolio Administrators, and handling customer relationships as a secondary contact for the sales team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned. Assists the Commercial sales team with managing the collection of financial reporting within a market specific and/or an assigned credit portfolio. Assists the Commercial sales team with the new business development process by: Maintaining department prospect lists Updating sales pipeline Preparing BankUnited pitch books and call related materials Obtaining applications and financial packages from prospective clients Assisting in the completion of memos and sample term sheets Submitting pre-screen and related financials to submissions mailbox Ordering appraisal/environmental via RIMS Facilitating the pre-closing process Assisting with other related process functions during new business origination process. Working on Credit Center Submissions Utilizes bank tools such as the financial tickler system to ensure timely and prompt collection of required financial reporting in line with loan & credit agreements so that a) annual reviews may be conducted in a timely fashion and b) the early detection of potentially deteriorating credit quality of any particular assigned credit relationship can be ensured. Completes global cash flows and credit consult memos. Participates with Commercial Bankers in joint sales and service calls. Ensures appropriate notification to clients of insurance and real estate payments. Clears documentation exceptions. Promptly escalates past due payments, past due insurance renewals, past due real estate tax payments, coming due financial reporting, and coming due annual reviews to the assigned Commercial Banker or Team Leader. Assists with timely preparation of property inspection reports. Ensures proper documentation of the credit files with financial reporting, covenant testing, file memos, property inspections, quarterly reviews, CAR and LCAR reports, and all pertinent information that pertains to maintaining an active and up-to-date credit file that reflects the most current status of the relationship. For criticized assets, ensures collateral valuations (namely real estate appraisals) are conducted when required. Works closely with Credit Administration to fully understand credit culture, policy & procedures. Participates in training seminars and workshops to enhance skill level. Assists with various special projects as assigned. Takes on daily account relationship management of assigned clients. May be engaged in Moody's and other bank credit training Assists the Division Director and Commercial Banking Department on special project assignments, roll out of new initiatives, technologies, trainings, etc. Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.). Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training. Identifies and reports suspicious activity. EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred And EXPERIENCE 7-9 Years of related work experience preferred Previous experience as a Credit Analyst or Credit Manager is helpful and formal credit training is preferred
