Job Description

Director of Quality

At Tokyo Manufacturing and Engineering of America (TMEA) - TEL we are a leading global company of innovation semiconductor production equipment. The Quality team at TMEA is involved in the entire lifecycle of product and process quality. Quality managers are responsible for the planning, strategic development, and execution of projects that meet the needs of our customers. They work in a cross-functional, collaborative environment that includes TMEA, TEL, and customer contributors.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads Quality Team's professional development through hiring, coaching, mentoring, and managing performance goals and objectives.
  • Develops, implements and maintains the activities of quality assurance, change control and supplier quality systems.
  • Work closely with peers to ensure TMEA standards are enabled and adequate for both current and future business needs
  • Establish team objectives, enrich KPI's, and assign resources
  • Champion lean enterprise, efficiency, and waste reduction thinking
  • Collaborate with TMEA management team to develop business unit objectives and priorities that are aligned with company strategy
  • Effectively lead the Quality organization in TMEA processes to exceed internal and external quality objectives
  • Engage and assist internal and external customers utilizing excellent communication and professional acumen fostering trust and collaboration.
  • Daily applies expert knowledge and critical thinking skills to navigate complex problems and strategies to lead a team of highly successful professional contributors

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in related field and 10+ years of professional Quality experience or Master's Degree with 6+ years of professional Quality experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specific experience with semiconductor equipment or similar fully automated capital equipment. Experience with gas-cluster ion beam and / or ion implantation technology, single-wafer dry wafer particle removal and / or chemical wafer cleaning is a plus.
  • Proven track record in the execution of lean principles and formal problem-solving techniques
  • Excellence in change control management
  • Experience with Monday.com and SAP ERP systems are a plus
  • Able to occasionally travel (10-15%), including potential for international travel
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Exemplary communication skills; both in written and verbal forums.
  • Proven record of formal problem-solving skills in a hands-on environment.
  • Strong analytical thinker.

Physical Requirements:

Job duties are performed in an office setting or in a clean room environment. May require the use of Personal Protection equipment and proper industry safety procedures when working with one or more dangerous element or conditions such as chemicals, electric currents or high voltage, moving mechanical parts, radiation, etc. Occasional travel to TEL factory, training facilities and customer locations may be required.

Salary Ranges

Individual pay is determined based on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skills, job-related knowledge, relevant education, certifications, and/or training. In addition to base salary, we offer (full time regular employees ) a comprehensive benefits package and for certain roles eligibility in our bonus plan and long-term incentives as applicable.
