Job Summary: As a Project Superintendent, you will be the key on-site leader responsible for the successful execution of a highway construction project from start to finish. Your leadership will ensure that all aspects of the project, including subcontractor management, scheduling, compliance, cost control, and quality assurance, are handled effectively and efficiently. You will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination and the timely completion of the project. The Project Superintendent is a full-time position that requires travel and overtime through peak season, reports to the Project Manager, and has supervisory responsibility. Essential Duties and Functions: Project Coordination: Coordinate the various aspects of the construction process, from materials procurement and equipment mobilization to labor management and site logistics. Ensure that all resources are available and deployed efficiently. Subcontractor Management: Oversee and direct subcontractors on-site, ensuring that all work is performed according to the project plans, specifications, and timelines. Resolve any issues that arise and maintain productive relationships. Project Scheduling: Maintain detailed project schedules. Monitor progress to ensure the project is on track and take corrective actions to avoid delays. Coordinate with other teams to manage timelines and milestones. Environmental Compliance: Ensure the project complies with all environmental regulations, including proper waste management, erosion control, and handling of hazardous materials. Oversee and enforce safety protocols and environmental best practices on-site. Cost Control: Assist in managing the project's budget. Track costs and report discrepancies to the project management team. Proactively identify and address potential cost overruns and manage changes in scope. Quality Control: Ensure all work is completed according to contract specifications, quality standards, and industry best practices. Conduct inspections and direct any necessary corrective actions to maintain high-quality construction standards. Owner & Stakeholder Communication: Maintain regular communication with owners, stakeholders, and other key project personnel. Provide progress updates, address concerns, and facilitate meetings to ensure alignment with project goals. Plan and Specification Review: Thoroughly review project plans and specifications to ensure clear understanding and proper implementation in the field. Ensure that the team adheres to the design documents and address any discrepancies. Safety Leadership: Foster a culture of safety on the construction site. Conduct regular safety meetings, enforce safety policies, and ensure that all work is being performed in accordance with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations. Position Requirements:
