Intern, Additive Manufacturing Project Management

Role Description:

As
a Project Management Intern, you will work closely with the Advanced
Manufacturing team to ensure the successful delivery of various projects. You
will also play a key role in identifying opportunities for process improvements
and implementing new tools and methods to enhance project efficiency. This
internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in project
management within a cutting-edge field and contribute to impactful projects.

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain a
    deep understanding of project management principles and practices.
  • Develop
    proficiency in project planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Enhance
    skills in process improvement and change management.
  • Learn
    about the standardization processes and how project management can contribute
    to setting industry standards.

General Responsibilities:

  • Support
    the planning, execution, and delivery of existing projects within the Additive
    Manufacturing team.
  • Identify
    areas for continuous improvement in project management methods and tools.
  • Lead
    initiatives to implement new processes and tools to enhance project efficiency.
  • Collaborate
    with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Prepare
    detailed reports and presentations to communicate project status and
    improvements to stakeholders.
  • Assist
    in the development of project management documentation and templates.
  • Participate
    in weekly team meetings and present progress updates.

Education:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

Competencies:

  • Flexibility, self-motivation, and the ability to give and receive feedback at all levels are required.
  • Questioning attitude - both technically and from a business perspective.
  • Excellent communication skills (English).
  • Ability to convey information in a simple and effective manner.
  • Enjoy analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages.
  • Basic understanding of project management.
  • Detail oriented mentality.
  • Good knowledge of material characterization techniques.
  • Interest in working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to engage in a virtual working environment.

Technical Requirements for role:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Trello).
  • Passion for additive manufacturing and a desire to learn and grow in this field.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent and close visual work at desk or computer.
  • Frequent sitting and working at desk.
  • Frequent verbal and written communication with team and other stakeholders by phone or video conferencing.

Time Requirements & Compensation:

  • Remote
  • 35 hours per week, May/June through August.
  • Compensation: $18.00/Hour
