Description: Position SummaryThe main function of this position is to analyze lease contracts, agreements, and ownership reports for entering title and leases into the Horizon Land system. The Lease Analyst monitors contract obligations and prepares and processes payments due for obligations. This position also assists in setting up and editing owner information as well as the adding to and editing the property master. Responsibilities * Review and analyze leases and related documents (deeds, assignments, title opinions, etc.) to verify acreage and title. Analyze leases for special provisions and obligations. * Enter leases, rights of way, easements and other instruments in land software and proof entries for accuracy. * Identify and verify leasehold acreage using WebMap. * Review deeds, transfers and conveyances for interest and ownership changes. * Set up new owners in Horizon and update owner information as necessary. * Set up properties using AFEMS and update property master as requested by accounting and land personnel and by monitoring turn-on forms. * Monitor monthly lease and contract provisions to assure compliance with contractual obligations and expirations. Advise Landmen of upcoming expiring leasehold. * Review the lease expiration reports and drilling schedule monthly to determine any lease renewals or extensions necessary to hold acreage. * Perform monthly scrub of leases on expiration and obligation report for accuracy of legal description, obligations, Pugh clauses, etc. * Run payment process in Horizon Land, request and enter manual checks in payment history in Horizon Land, and generate PA withholding checks. * Respond in a timely manner to accounting inquiries. * Assist Lease Records Supervisor and Senior Lease Analyst with special projects and assignments. * Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Work performed in an office is typically in a climate controlled indoor setting. Work performed in the field may require the employee to be subjected to seasonal field conditions ranging from normal to extreme temperature and weather conditions and employees must be able to work in remote, isolated areas.
