The Facilities intern will provide support to the Site and/or Facility Management team with operational activities in maintenance and operations. The candidate will have a strong foundation in engineering and a passion to pursue facilities management in their future. A basic understanding of boilers, air compressors, and vacuum pumps is desired. The role will assist with ensuring requirements are met within the controlled environment of a fast-paced Life Science account. The facilities intern will be primarily focused on contributing to JLL facilities management initiatives i.e. Improving the fluency in documentation, improving coordination with vendors, and identifying areas of improvement. They will also be exposed to the engineering side of the business with time spent assisting the JLL engineers with hands on projects and day-to-day work.
Service Delivery Actively support an environment of teamwork, cooperation, performance excellence, and personal success. Identify opportunities for improved operation and service excellence, making recommendations for conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure all building procedures and performance measures are always maintained and the provision of a safe workplace. Reviews of Scheduling and planning in our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Review information and direction to vendors, facilities staff and other service providers as required to ensure excellent coordination Update and maintain accurate records and official documentation for the site/s including web pages where any other activities to support JLL and/or operations, including, but not limited to building operations. Relationship Management Comply with all requirements of the client contract Deliver an exceptional quality of service, as reflected by client feedback. Support site operations in accordance with all agreed policies, procedures and contract scope. Understanding of basic technical aspects of property (computer room air-conditioning, chiller system, fire protection system, mechanical & electrical system) Proficiency in a range of information technology tools and platforms. Excellent communication, organization and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with little supervision and effectively deal with stressful situations. Self-motivated; confident, energetic and flexible. Required Education / Experience: Education: High School graduate or GED. Pursuing a 4-year degree in engineering or related field Physical Requirements: Have the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. Have the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs as required during shift. Have the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift. Have the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis during shift. Have the ability to walk extensively throughout the facility during shift. |
