Mountain West Bank is looking for an enthusiatic Personal Banker for our Cole Street branch in Boise, ID! This individual will be responsible for the professional selling of multiple services and accounts to each customer and prospective customer. Must be familiar with, and promote, the use of all Bank accounts and services seeking the full retail banking relationship of each customer. May act as a Teller as determined by the needs of the branch.

Must be available between the hours of 8:30am- 6:15pm Monday-Friday and 9:00 am- 1:00pm Saturday, schedule may vary. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job. Hourly rate DOE $19.50 +

DUTIES:

  • Responsible for knowing the features and benefits of all retail banking products and services.
  • May require travel.
  • Responsible for opening new accounts and complying with MWB and GBCI policies and procedures when doing so.
  • Proficient with the bank's High-Performance Growth (HPG) program and actively participates in all aspects of the program including, but not limited to: Tell-A-Friend, Big Days, HPG displays, 2-2-2 follow-up, cross-serve panel.
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding interest rates, service charges and account histories while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations, and consumer privacy policies.
  • Follows up with temporary signature cards within the appropriate time frames and complies with all procedures.
  • Accurately closes accounts only after trying to retain the customer.
  • Cross-sells bank products and services.
  • Refers customers to the proper department for issues that cannot be resolved and refers customers to other departments for other products and services.
  • Perform Teller duties as needed.
  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

About You

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient keyboarding skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  • Prior sales experience.
  • Prior banking experience.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of Jack Henry platform.
  • Previous experience as a Teller.
  • Previous knowledge and use of MWB products and services

Personal Bankers must be client/customer focused, hold information in the strictest of confidences, have technical capabilities, be thorough and communicate proficiently.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Light work. The employee is constantly required to stand and walk. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
