Material Handler

Position title: Material Handler

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Supervises: N/A

Position summary:

Job Title Goes Here The material handler is responsible for staging and delivering the materials and supplies at the appropriate locations within the department when they arrive from the warehouse and/or the supplier directly.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Stage raw materials as they arrive from warehouse and/or suppliers.
• Locates materials by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
• Maintains in-process inventory at work stations and within the warehouse by delivering and staging materials.
• Pulls appropriate materials for the State Inspector as needed.
• Operates the bailing machine to process the orders as they come in.
• Must ensure organization to keep production flowing appropriately.
• Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

• Steel toed shoes are required.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend and stoop over an 8 hour period.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

• Must be able to work professionally as part of a team with other department employees.
• Must be able to comprehend and perform duties using established work and safety procedures.
• Must be detail oriented.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Must have the ability to follow instructions.
• Must have ability to understand written and verbal specifications and translate
• Can operate a variety of machines.

Education and Work Experience

• Must be able to attain and maintain forklift certification
