Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, seeks candidates for a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to support a Government System Engineering Technical Assistance Contractor Team. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Perform Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Equipment and Software Cybersecurity Systems Engineering, supporting the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process for tactical systems.
• Provide accurate technical evaluations of FMS equipment, software applications, full systems, or networks, documenting the security posture, capabilities, and vulnerabilities against applicable NIST controls.
• Manage updates in Confluence and Jira for projects such as the Poland Phase 2 project and additional projects upon completion.
• Design, interpret, and build models within MagicDraw/Cameo.
• Select and implement security controls, complete accreditation packages, formulate and implement mitigations, and maintain system security posture.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate system security threats/risks throughout the system lifecycle, validate system security requirements, and maintain documentation and system certification and accreditation activities.
• Lead cybersecurity process and tool improvements.
• Monitor and evaluate system compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) security, resilience, and dependability requirements, performing validation steps and analyzing impact and risks at the software application, system, and network levels.
• Provide solutions and ensure continued functionality of systems within the DoD RMF Framework.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of combined Government/DoD experience in performing the essential duties listed.
• Experience with implementing and evaluating DoD STIG requirements, NIST RMF, IAVMs, and Cybersecurity assessment tools (ACAS, Nessus, SCC, STIG Viewer).
• Knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and NIST security controls.
• Experience with Confluence and Jira; Scrum Master or Product Owner experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with MBSE tools (MagicDraw/Cameo).
• Knowledge of information system architecture and standards as they apply to cybersecurity.
• Sec+ or higher certification.
• Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. US travel only.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience in a DoD security environment.
• Strong communication and writing skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Experience supporting a diverse customer base, including program managers, engineers, analysts, specialists, and technicians.
