Role and Responsibilities:


Are you a detail-oriented and organized individual with a passion for numbers? Do you enjoy working in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same? We're seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our team, where you'll play a critical role in supporting our Accounting department and ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes.



  • All members of the team are required to uphold the mission and values and conduct themselves with the highest level of professionalism.

  • Generate and provide custom reports to management, upon request.

  • Administer and maintain our NetSuite system, including:

    • Research internal requests for accounting system customization to determine feasibility, including custom reports or new modules.

    • Managing and maintain relationship with NetSuite Advanced Customer Support and third-party managed service provider.

    • Research and troubleshoot accounting system issues and obtain resolutions.

    • Submit cases or custom system requests to NetSuite or third-party, as necessary, and manage completion from start to finish.

    • Provide training to Accounting team for any changes to the NetSuite system as well managing on-going training needs for users.

    • Prepare documentation for new processes or process changes.



  • Communicate with all users to optimize system usage and reporting capabilities.

  • Provide administrative system support for the budget preparation process, vendor payments, customer billing, etc.

  • Manage integrations between NetSuite and other systems, working with support to resolve any lapses in connection.

  • User access management

  • Data maintenance

  • File imports

  • Conduct research and prepare supporting documentation for administrative reports submitted to state authorities, including sales tax returns, property tax returns, program credentialing, charity and state filings.

  • Provide administrative assistance to various teams, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Financial Reporting, and Payroll, as well as our Controller and CFO.

  • Assist with data preparation for year-end audits and required IRS reporting.

  • Complete various reporting and administrative tasks as assigned.

  • Support the Controller as necessary

  • Perform other duties, as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or GED, with 5 years of relevant accounting experience

  • Associates degree in Accounting, Business, or related field (Preferred)

  • Minimum of (2) years of experience in accounting or administrative role with an AA/AS (Preferred)

  • Proficiency in using technology, including Microsoft Office Suite products

  • Demonstrated Intermediate Level Excel Skills

  • Proficiency in math and mathematical equations

  • Experience documenting business processes and conceptual understanding of an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)


Preferred Skills:



  • Familiarity and experience with NetSuite or other ERP

  • Knowledge of state and local tax preparation and compliance.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices.

  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, think innovatively, and implement creative solutions to challenges.

  • Strong organizational skills to ensure tasks are completed start to finish.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, providing support and coverage as needed.

  • Adaptability and flexibility are important, as the role may require responding to unforeseen challenges or changes in project requirements.

  • Willingness and ability to learn new software, processes, and regulations
