How You'll Make an Impact

Aptima is excited to bring on a part-time intern to assist on high priority projects and work within our Strategic Programs Office (SPO). You will have the opportunity to work with a highly interdisciplinary team on a variety of tasking, including the following:

  • Support the planning, monitoring, and reporting of project performance.
  • Assist in tracking project progress, analyzing cost data, and gaining hands-on experience in project management and control processes.
  • Assist in analysis and modeling of key performance metrics and using variance analysis.
  • Work with PMs and SPO management to produce monthly Project Status Reports.
  • Apply written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with team members using email, phone, and virtual meeting technology.
  • Participate in a timely, productive, and collegial manner on a multidisciplinary project team.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of the project lifecycle and general PM best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Skilled in use of MS Project for creating and maintaining detailed program schedules, including dependencies, resource loading, and progress tracking.
  • Skilled in use of MS Excel for analyzing cost data.
  • Familiarity with MS Word, PowerPoint, and MS Teams for daily project control duties.
  • Some familiarity with business intelligence software tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET US Government clearance ?
  • Completed B.A./B.S. degree in business management or a related discipline.
