Job Title Commerce Writer, Partnerships Job Description About The Position \| This position is hybrid in-office. Dotdash Meredith is looking for a writer to join the News & Deals team and cover timely home, beauty, fashion, and lifestyle-related shopping content on celebrities, trends, reviews, and more. We're looking for someone who can cover everything from single-product features to sale roundups and spot customer-loved pieces, seasonal and trending items, and more for brands like People, InStyle, Real Simple, Travel & Leisure, Food and Wine, and others. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is passionate about and has experience with commerce-focused stories, can create quality content, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Your day-to-day: Pitch and write at least two shopping articles per day Identify and carry out commerce content opportunities within various lifestyle categories including home, kitchen, fashion, travel, and beauty Work across various edit programs with different KPIs and content strategies Use data and analytics to brainstorm and guide content decisions Collaborate closely with numerous writers and editors both on and outside of the Partnerships Vertical Monitor social media (TikTok, Instagram, etc.) for Commerce opportunities, including viral products and celebrity mentions Build content within the CMS Reach out to high-quality experts to provide background information and quotes as needed You are: A commerce writer with 3+ years of experience writing shopping content for major publications Passionate about and/or knowledgeable of the lifestyle commerce space and enthusiastic about finding the best products out there Detail-oriented and deadline-focused Experienced in executing SEO best practices A strong writer capable of creating engaging, lively headlines and working across several brands at a time, all the while keeping the voice, values, and style of each in mind A self-starter who can pivot seamlessly as new initiatives and priorities are identified About The Positions Contributions: Weight %: Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results 70%: Researching, pitching, and writing commerce content to publish across DDM brands. 15%: Reviewing data on story performance, learning the ins and outs of Partnerships campaigns, working across TRX teams to bring a story to life. 15%: Utilizing tools like AirTable, Parse.ly, GA, SEMRush, the Google suite, and more to monitor progress and track success. The Role's Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, or related field. Experience: 3+ years of commerce journalism experience writing shopping content for major publications. Must have relevant, recent clips demonstrating an ability to write sale stories, reviews, launch coverage, etc. Ideal candidates will have Black Friday, Prime Day, and more commerce tentpole experience and understand the ever-changing needs of a dynamic commerce team. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
