We Require
Two years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal supporting attorneys Associate's degree in paralegal studies or legal assistance, or an Associate's degree in any field and a certificate of completion from an accredited Legal Assistant or Paralegal Studies program
We Also Value
Experience in a municipal or government setting Four years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal supporting attorneys Bachelor's degree in legal studies or closely related field
Job Contributions
Track and summarize petitions for rule changes filed with the Arizona Supreme Court Track and summarize legislative proposals and bills being considered by the Arizona Legislature Research legal issues, statutes, rules of procedure, and case law; prepare summaries; and apply legal knowledge to ensure compliance with court rules Draft written communications of a legal nature on behalf of the General Counsel to both internal and external stakeholders Conduct and summarize research regarding litigation where the Clerk's office is a named defendant, including, but not limited to case, cases involving HOA liens, criminal restitution orders, and tax liens Draft responses to inquiries from TransUnion, ADP, and other background check organizations regarding criminal history information Serve as the Americans with Disabilities Act Coordinator Serve as the Title VI of the Civil Rights Act Language Access Coordinator Assist with preparation for Supreme Court Task Force, State Bar Practice and Procedure Committees, Clerks Association and Presiding Judge/Court Administration Meetings Coordinate documents and data in response to public records requests and subpoenas Compile information and assist with drafting responses to various requests for information and case records from internal and external customers Accurately perform several functions simultaneously in a planned and organized manner while meeting criticaldeadlines Communicate effectively both orally and in writing Interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders Assist with administrative functions as needed, such as distribution of Administrative Orders, meeting preparation, preparing agendas, scheduling meetings, and reviewing and editing documents
Working Conditions
Mostly office setting in high volume, fast-paced environment with frequent stressful situations Requires long periods of sitting while completing computer activities. Ability to frequently ascend and descend 1-3 steps to work area, with or without accommodation Ability to travel to and from various job-related locations during the course of a scheduled workday, subject to County policies regarding use of County vehicles and/or private vehicles used on County business Potential opportunity for partial remote work
