Job Summary

Join a dynamic team at a world-class institution, where you'll combine fieldwork and office tasks to create comprehensive campus maps. This internship involves using state-of-the-art surveying equipment and aerial imagery to map key campus features, including roads, pathways, planting beds, water features, and other landscape elements. You'll employ cutting-edge software such as ESRI, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD, as well as other interactive applications, to produce high-quality maps for various projects. Additionally, you'll capture 360-degree photos of building interiors, contributing to an integrated GIS and collections data system.

Essential Job Duties



  • Performs mapping and analysis using ArcGIS and AutoCAD software.
  • Generate the campus basemap by converting the civil survey CAD file into a GIS shapefile.
  • Utilize geoprocessing tools to update and enhance existing databases.
  • Support the Planning and Design team with mapping and data visualization tasks.


Basic Qualifications



  • Some college-level coursework.
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS Software.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Strong ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
  • Preferably a junior or senior with coursework or experience in GIS, geography, urban planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or a related field.

Hiring Range

$18.50 - $22.25 Per Hour

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
