Essential Job Duties	Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI), the research technician will perform daily tasks to support laboratory experiments focused on plant pathogenic fungi that affect strawberries and tomatoes. Key responsibilities for this position include: Utilizing aseptic techniques to prepare culture media for fungi. Extracting and quantifying genomic DNA from fungi, soil, and strawberry and tomato leaves. Conducting PCR, real-time PCR, and pathogenicity assays in the greenhouse. Compiling and formatting data for analysis. Performing amplicon sequencing of genes of interest and analyzing raw sequence data. Effective communication with faculty, research staff, and students in the laboratory is essential.
