About the Position The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Division is a customer-driven team dedicated to the day-to-day maintenance and successful operation of all County facilities. We are seeking a skilled Plumber with a strong focus on quality work and customer service to join our team. Our O&M team consists of various crafts and specialty trades, including electricians, locksmiths, general trades professionals, and HVAC technicians. Teamwork is essential as we maintain County buildings 24 hours a day, seven days a week. About Us As the landlord for all facilities owned by Maricopa County, the Facilities Management Department is responsible for the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operations of more than 200 facilities comprised of over 10 million square feet. Facilities Management is made up of a collaborative team that provides and performs various functions to meet the facility-related needs of all Maricopa County Departments. We Require
Three years of journey-level commercial plumbing experience High School Diploma or GED Completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational education in the plumbing field may substitute for two years of the experience requirement Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire and have an acceptable driving record Must Complete a Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) background investigation to access County detention facilities

Remove, replace, and repair toilets, porcelain and stainless steel, faucets, valves, and meters, tempering valves, vent lines, pumps, water softeners, water heaters, showers, urinals, flush valves, flow meters, boilers, steam traps, drinking fountains, and ice machines Repairs sewer lines, grease traps, and lead cast iron joints Safely operates sewer machines 1065, 300, 100, 80 jetters, cameras, and locators Perform preventive maintenance on plumbing fixtures and systems Operate PC and handheld devices for time management, work order assignments, and status, inventory, and other functions as required Respond to emergency situations during and after hours Other job duties as assigned
Working Conditions
Duties require lifting/deadlifting (floor to waist) of up to 50 pounds, bending, twisting, squatting, pushing, or pulling is required of up to 100 pounds, up to 100 feet while navigating through equipment rooms, on building rooftops, and in restrictive areas. Must be able to safely climb ladders, scaffolding, and step stools in the execution of duties. Requires bending, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crawling in all indoor and outdoor environments Incumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures, wetness/humidity, respiratory hazards, and noise and vibration Incumbent may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dust, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel Some temperature extremes, confined areas, high noise levels, dim lighting, dust or smoke, potential contagious diseases, and traumatic subject matter. Jail environments and in hot/humid conditions on a regular basis. Exposure to various forms of hazardous energy sources relating but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
Protective Equipment Required
Special working environments include but are not limited to
Adult and juvenile detention facilities; medical facilities, detention, and public health; forensics; courts; and related justice facilities. This position may require a rotating on-call/stand-by schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
