Description:

The Container Hardening Engineer for Iron Bank (IB) plays a critical role in securing containerized applications and implementing best practices in container hardening to meet Iron Bank and DoD standards. This position involves creating secure containers, maintaining documentation, and contributing to DevSecOps initiatives within Kubernetes environments.

  • Harden Docker containers to meet Iron Bank standards by removing unnecessary software and minimizing vulnerabilities.
  • Perform security testing and vulnerability analysis, including CVE assessments for container workloads.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for container implementations, updates, and processes in alignment with Iron Bank's requirements.
  • Ensure all containerized applications comply with DoD security policies and standards.
  • Develop and deploy containerized applications into Kubernetes environments.
  • Collaborate with the DevSecOps community to optimize deployment and hardening processes.
  • Provide solutions for seamless integration of container security tools like Twistlock, Aqua, or others into the Iron Bank ecosystem.
  • Utilize container security tools to identify and mitigate risks in Iron Bank-managed containers.
  • Implement service mesh technologies like Istio to enhance container orchestration and security.
  • Apply expertise in cloud infrastructure tools (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) for container deployment and maintenance.
  • Support Continuous Deployment pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Spinnaker, or other CI/CD platforms.
  • Collaborate with Iron Bank teams to maintain and harden containers approved for use across DoD environments.
  • Actively participate in reviewing and updating container repositories in Iron Bank.
  • Provide technical support and respond to escalations related to Iron Bank container hardening efforts
  • 3+ years of experience in containerized application development and security.
  • Advanced expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, and container security solutions.
  • Strong working knowledge of deployment models and service mesh concepts for Kubernetes (e.g., Istio).
  • Experience with vulnerability testing tools and techniques specific to container workloads.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
